Here is a list of common abbreviations:

Factor - ratio between a player's raising and calling frequencies |
| ATS | Attempt to steal - how often a player attacks the blinds from late position |
| B/C | Bet / Call - a player bets and then calls an opposing raise |
| B/F | Bet / Fold - a player bets and then folds to an opposing raise |

| SSS | Shortstack Strategy - Strategy for play with a small stack in no limit games |
| STT | Single Table Tournament - tournament played on just one table |
| TAF | Tell A Friend - a bonus system wehre a player gets a bounty for recruiting new players |
| TAG | Tight-Aggressive - a player is a TAG if he plays few hands but plays them aggressively |
| TPMK | Top Pair / Medium Kicker - A pair with one starting card and the highest board card with a second card of moderate value |
| TPTK | Top Pair / Top Kicker - A pair with one starting card and the highest board card with a second card that is as high as possible |
| UTG | Under the Gun - position directly after the big blind |
